We need your help to right the wrong. We are asking the Beverly Hills City Council to reconsider their vote. Youth sport fees must be fair and not oppressive. Please contact the City Council and give them the opportunity to do the right thing for our children.
- The City Council's youth sports fees are a tax that will cost up to 25% of a youth sports current revenue. This is oppressive and we have no choice but to take this out of programs for our children.
- It is wrong to charge a user fee based "on what a youth sports organizations can afford." We are not for profit volunteer based organizations.
- The cost basis for the tax provided by the City's Recreation & Parks Department does NOT relate to our useage.
- Charging youth sports organizations between 300% and 800% for non-resident participants is punitive and discriminatory and adversely affects the quality of our programs. Past practice by Recreation & Parks has been to charge non-residents up to a 25% surcharge.
AYSO Region 76 has detailed the effects on their youth program in a series of four FAQs. Soon, we will add information about the impact on other youth sports.
